Alamine aminotransferase (ALT) and Hemogbolin (Hb) Test System

The Alamine aminotransferase(ALT) and hemogbolin(Hb) test system(by peripheral blood) is used for the rapid determination of ALT and Hb simultaneously. It is designed for medium and small scale hospitals, blood centers and bloodmobiles and centers for disease control, consisting of test kits, hemolytic agent(cyanide-free), a micro centrifuge and microplate reader.

Testing Principles
The ALT test is based on pyruvate oxidase method, and the principle is shown as followings.

In the test of Hb levels, red blood cells are first dissociated into free hemoglobin by cyanide-free hemolytic agents, and the free hemoglobin is converted to stable hemoglobin derivatives afterwards.
Concentrations of both ALT and Hb can be determined by microplate reader.

Product Features

Trace: it only requires 15 μl of peripheral blood or venous blood to carry out both ALT and Hb tests.

Rapid: the ALT measurement of 90 samples can be finished in 30 minutes using a enzyme-labeled instrument with a test speed of 15 min/sample.

Flexible: the Biomedia ALT and Hb test kit is applicable to the measurement using various instruments, such as semi-automatic biochemical analyzer, spectrophotometer and microplate reader with the wavelength of 630 and 540 nm.

Accurate: the ALT measurement of this test kit is identical with that of the test kit using IFCC method, showing a correlation of higher than 0.990. The product contains Randox calibrator and conducts the quality control by the Randox quality control serum.  Hb levels are tested with cyanide-free hemolysin and Hb standards, and the result is highly consistent with that determined by hemiglobincyanide (HiCN) method.

Low cost: domestic high-quality consumables make for the low cost of the whole assay.

Convenient: ready-prepared reagents packed for individual tests render the simple and rapid test process.

Environment-friendly: the hemolytic agent contains no cyanide, meeting safety and environment-friendly standards.

Package Services: we offer package services including all the consumables, test kits, equipment(with optical filter), software and technical training.

Clinical Significance
Alanine aminotransferase(ALT) is an important enzyme involved in amino acid metabolism. It is found in many tissues, and the highest level of ALT is found in liver tissues. ALT is a typical endoenzyme, and therefore its concentration is normally low in human serum.
However, the concentration of ALT will increase remarkably if liver cells are damaged. The increase of ALT levels usually results from some liver diseases, such as liver cirrhosis, liver cancer, viral or hepatitis and obstructive jaundice. Besides, markedly elevated ALT levels relate to the muscle disease, hemolytic disease, myocardial infarction and circulatory failure with shock. Hence, the rapid and simple measurement of ALT is significant for the diagnosis of these diseases.
Hemoglobin(Hb) enables red blood cells to bind to oxygen in the lungs and carry it to tissues and organs throughout the body. Normally, Hb levels is kept in a certain range, and thus the unusual fluctuation of its level often indicates some diseases. For instance, the decrease of Hb levels is related with anemia, leukemia and postpartum or postoperation hemorrhage. Conversely, the pathologic increase of Hb levels may suggest polycythemia vera and cyanotic congenital heart disease.
